Bonnie Wilson / Wednesday, 27 April 2011 19:44

Summer is a great time to enjoy some outdoor living with your family. There are so many activities you can do to have fun together in your own yard. Purchase a few items at an outdoor living store and you will be set up for years of family fun and memories. Save the money you would spend on gas and stay in your own neighborhood. Invite some neighbors over for a BBQ and some games. A block party can be fun.

Enjoy Watching Birds In Your Backyard
Bonnie Wilson / Thursday, 21 April 2011 20:15

There is nothing more relaxing than spending an afternoon or evening in the great outdoors watching birds in your backyard. Make sure you have a comfortable lawn chair or a hammock, because you cannot do much moving around. Sun glasses or a hat with a nice brim should be an important part of your outdoor living wardrobe. Binoculars will help you get a close-up view of a bird. It’s great just to lay back, close your eyes and listen to the different bird sounds.

Agritourism Might Be A Good Option For Your Next Vacation
Bonnie Wilson / Monday, 18 April 2011 23:27

Agritourism is the practice of attracting visitors and travelers to agricultural areas, generally for educational and recreational purposes. In recent years people have been increasingly interested in some great outdoor living. They are taking time away from the hustle and bustle of their busy life to relax and build some good memories. A few days or a week at a farm or ranch will just help you do that! You have to decide what you are interested in. Do you just want to relax; do you want to be included in the daily activities on a working farm; are you interested in learning more about growing crops or products in the great outdoors; or do animals hold your interest.

If You Like Birds You Will Like the American Goldfinch
Bonnie Wilson / Wednesday, 13 April 2011 15:52

Enjoy some great outdoor living by bird watching in your yard. Bird watching is fascinating and can be a very relaxing part of your outdoor living. It would be a good idea to have a pair of binoculars handy so you can get some close-up views of the birds. There are many, many kinds of birds in the great outdoors, but one of the prettiest is the American Goldfinch. The male, in breeding plumage, is bright yellow with a black forehead, wings and tail. He has one white wing-bar on each wing and white on his tail. If it isn’t breeding season he is brown with hints of yellow and white wing-bars. He always has white in his under tail. The female in breeding plumage is yellowish-gray-brown on top and varies in color from bright yellow to dull yellow underneath. She has two light wing-bars on each wing and a light colored bill. Her tail is black with white outer tips. When not in the breeding season, she is gray above and below and has a darker bill.

Ready To Go Fishing On A Sunny Afternoon?
Bonnie Wilson / Thursday, 07 April 2011 21:54

I can’t think of a better way to relax in the great outdoors on a warm, sunny afternoon. You can go fishing alone or take the kids or grandkids. It probably would be much more relaxing to go alone, but the kids will love some great outdoor living with you. I can’t think of a better way to bond with them and have a good time. This is a great way to make memories. You can bet they will be anxious to tell their friends about this outdoor living experience.
